Know Your Identity

When you draw closer to Christ, you draw closer to your True Identity.
How?
God is Our Father, Creator and Source. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to bear our sins so we can choose to live whole in Him.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
John 3:16-17 NKJV

God, being The Provider He is, knew we would need help as long as we lived here on earth. When Jesus ascended into Heaven, He left us a Comforter, this makes up the Holy Trinity we hear so much about.
“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”
John 14:18 KJV
He gives us free will to choose His way or die in sin with the world.
He left us instructions to follow; the rest is up to us. We can identify with Christ or the world.
Jesus said…
““I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
v5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
John 15:1-12 NIV
If someone doesn’t realize who they are, please ask them to pray and seek The Lord. Do not seek answers from those around you, especially when they are also searching. Unless they are rooted in Christ, they too, are seeking in the world what can never be found: being made complete.
God is Our Creator. We can ask God for whatever we need. He wants you to seek Him for the Truth. When you make time to spend with Him (through prayer, worship, Bible study), He will reveal it. When He does, I pray you will forever Seek Him First.
