What Pain Produces...

No human being I know wants to experience pain. It hurts; it's unpleasant; it's inconvenient and can be debilitating. Pain is very real and it is something we will ALL have to experience in our lifetime. Why? Many do not want to accept the reason why there is pain and suffering in life, but the truth is found in Genesis 2-3. There was a time when there was no pain, only peace and tranquility.
Close your eyes......Can you imagine? Can you picture paradise on earth?
There was a time when man, woman and God walked together and talked together. Life was good! After Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan, then disobeyed God, sin entered into the world. Sin is anything we think or do that goes against God's law. Sin separates us from God. He still loves us, but there is punishment for sin. For Adam, Eve, and all of us today we must work the ground for food, endure painful labor in childbirth and experience death. Because man continues to be tempted by Satan and continues to disobey God, sin is still a big issue. But here is The Good News: God sent His Only Son Jesus Christ to die for us and save us from dying in sin. (Meditate on John 3:16)
Jesus' Pain Produced Salvation:
Jesus' pain and suffering led to our salvation. His pain produced our greatest gift. Because of the blood He shed for us and all the pain He endured for us, we (all who choose Him as their Savior) now have freedom from sin and have a way to eternal life in Christ. That Good News brings us Joy!
Pain Produces Perspective:
Instead of asking ourselves "Why," let's challenge our thoughts and ask "Why not?" We know we have to go through pain because Jesus did this for us. Like us, even Jesus had a moment where He prayed and asked God if there was any other way. But unlike most of us, He immediately acknowledged God's Will was best:
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me;
yet not my will, but yours be done." Luke 22:42
Our pain, no matter how severe to us, is nothing compared to what Jesus did on Calvary for all of mankind. Praise God we will never experience that pain.
Pain Produces Humility:
When enduring pain, you realize almost immediately you are not in control. In cases of severe pain, we are humbled and seek The Lord for relief through prayer. We also call on family, friends or loved ones for help and remedies. Some of us have to depend on doctor's or hospitals for relief. In either case, when the pain is gone you realize your strength didn't heal you. You needed the help of someone else, most of all you had Divine help.
Pain Produces Joy, Revelation, and Empathy:
I experienced labor pains before the birth of my two daughters. Each labor pain was real. After enduring hours worth of pain a healthy baby was produced. It is amazing how God brings so much Joy after so much pain. I recently endured my first (and prayerfully last) muscle sprain. My upper right leg has been so stiff, and achy this week that I will always remember to stretch before and after my jumping jacks. I see first hand how neglecting to stretch before and after work out can have painful results.
Until we experience pain for ourselves, it is impossible to understand what someone in pain is feeling. I can empathize with anyone that has endured muscle pain. In my 48 yrs of life, I never felt that kind of pain. Every movement I made required that stiff muscle. I prayed and called on The Lord for His healing. I also had to apply some works to my Faith. I prayed and anointed my vapor rub, menthol patches, pain reliever, spoke over the heating pad and ice pack, and kept my leg massaged. It's been 5 days of stiffness, aches, and discomfort, but I praise God for Victory! I can walk with less of a limp and can get up from a chair without holding on to the arms for dear life. That's a Blessing and I'm thankful!
Pain Produces Perseverance/Patience:
When you want to understand how to endure pain, meditate on Romans 5:3-4. Be encouraged as you endure. Jesus is with you and understands your pain. We learn to live with hope knowing that Jesus is within us doing something in the midst of our pain. By Faith we know He is working in our suffering and is producing patience for us to endure future pain. He's also building character in each of us. Jesus is concerned with our total healing: Spirit, Soul and Body. Whether we are in pain, out of pain or about to experience, we can take comfort knowing we are not alone.

Be Blessed
Michelle
Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. 3 John 1:2 NLT
